High-Protein Earl Grey Vanilla Iced Latte

This take on an iced London fog latte is prepared with strong brewed Tetley Earl Grey Vanilla Tea and boosted with vanilla protein powder. It’s a great way to start the day and makes a perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes (+ 1 hour standing time)

 Makes:

Ingredients

  • 2 bags Tetley Earl Grey Vanilla Tea
  • 2 cups (500 mL) boiling hot water
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) honey
  • 1 cup (250 mL) dairy or non-dairy milk
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) vanilla protein powder
  • 2 cups (500 mL) ice, or as needed
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) dried edible lavender flowers

Directions

  1. Transfer tea bags to heatproof measuring cup. Pour boiling water over tea. Stir in honey. Let steep for 10 to 15 minutes and remove tea bags. Let tea cool completely to room temperature.
  2. In small bowl, whisk together milk and protein powder. Using a countertop milk frother on cold setting, froth milk mixture until frothy and fully incorporated. (Alternatively, whip mixture with handheld frother.)
  3. Fill 2 tall glasses with ice. Pour in cooled tea and top with frothed milk mixture. Garnish with lavender.

Tetley Tips:

  • Alternatively, measure vanilla protein powder using manufacturer’s scoop, adding 1/2 to 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder per serving as preferred.
  • Substitute honey with your favorite sweeter. Pure maple syrup and agave work well in this recipe too.
