Total time: 30 minutes (+ 1 hour standing time)
Makes: 2
Ingredients
- 2 bags Tetley Peach Orange Tea
- 1 cup (250 mL) boiling hot water
- 2 large fresh peaches, divided
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup (250 mL) ice, or as needed
- 1 cup (250 mL) lemon lime soda (cold)
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) dairy or non-dairy cream or milk (cold)
- 2 sprigs mint, for garnishing
Directions
- Transfer tea bags to heatproof measuring cup. Pour boiling water over tea. Let steep for 10 to 15 minutes and remove tea bags. Let tea cool completely to room temperature.
- Divide tea between 2 tall glasses.
- Cut 2 thin slices from 1 peach; reserve slices for garnishing in Step 4. Dice remaining peaches and divide between glasses. Add mint leaves. Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, crush peaches and mint.
- Top glasses with ice. Pour in soda and cream. Garnish each glass with a reserved peach slice and sprig of mint.
Tetley Tips:
- Depending on your preference, you can use half-and-half (10%) cream, table (18%) cream or heavy or whipping (35%) cream for this recipe. For non-dairy options, coconut cream and coconut milk work well for that tropical flavour, but your favourite nut milk is also a nice addition.
- To make ahead, brew the tea, chill and store in refrigerator for 1 to 2 days.
- Substitute peaches with strawberries, cherries or blueberries.
